They call it Luxenburg!!!! these days. That is the smallanyana village where I come from situated koMatatiele (not sure whether its KZN or Eastern Cape) but its there somewhere. I went home during the easter weekend to see my mother, father, grand mother, grand father from my father's side....and a whole lot of people from my family and the village. My family is one of those big extended families with lots of people. My father and mum don't stay there cause of work reasons like me, so when he is there all the relatives come and we all sit together at my father's house as a family, so the same thing happened this time again.
The village is still dry as ever, the road to the house oh my God its still bad...terrible thing happened our car was fetched by a breakdown......that is how bad the road is...full of big stones on the way, but something positive has happened, they have running water although its 1 tap shared by about 10 families. This is still better than before when we use to emlanjeni to go fetch water. And yha hee there is electricity, In my village there is electricity..i don't believe this yhazi phela i never imagined my village with electricity cause its one of those deep rural villages surrounded by mountains.
But it was good shame to see my folks, brothers, sisters, cousins, grand parents and everyone that i use to know when I was growing koLuxeni. To be continued

Its in the Eastern Cape,, but close to KZN I should think. Electricity, water>> they say its not easy for them to channel water and electricity to the deep rural areas. Decentralisation is still hitting us quite bad hey.
They, them, then moved us away from all the easy accessible land to the mountains and it’s a pity we cant move as our parents have settled and built there.
Coming to think of it, it was done with intent that it will deprive us of good life and they, them knew very well that democratic government would have to lead at some point and they them made sure that when democratic government comes into the office, there will be major challenges like these that will be difficult to deal with and making the d'government seem as not efficient to the lives of those in places like matatiela.......ha!! We are going to do it. One tap shared by 10 households, soon to have ten taps for 10 households. Watch the space, we are getting somewhere. That is a beginning sisi. Patience!!!
Matatiele...Eastern Cape i don't think so Lhalhi...oh ok its like the Kgotsong case....in our case (MTE) the town is in KZN and villages are in Eastern Cape this means we sleep in Eastern Cape and go and shop or spend our money in KZN..that means we are supporting KZN economy....
anywho this post was not about that...let me stop being all emotional about the municipal boundaries cause they really do work me when i think about....what happened to the term called "consultation of the community"...anywho i said i am not talking about this.
I was talking about electricity and water in my village, yah i agree with Lhalhi they them wanted these things to happen to us by placing us in those places...with poor infrastructure....but we can't be complaining forever now can we? we need to find a way forward.
Yha I am patient shame that is why i am so excited that my village benefited from the government. I know there is still more to come.
I am waiting.....
